Masterson’s Pub , situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my most recent experience at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I encountered behind its walls was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The State of Affairs: Squalid and Disregarded
From the moment I walked in , it was clear that sanitation was not a priority at this bar . The ground was covered in grime , and a pungent odor of stale beer and dirty bathrooms suffused the entire pub. With a smell of a mixture of excrement , a rotting odor and sickness . The main bar, which should be the main attraction of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and debris that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The bathroom was in even worse condition — spilling over , with a shattered handle and walls stained in what I can only assume was feces.

After reading through multiple accounts and talking to people around , it seems that the quality additional resources of upkeep (or lack thereof) at this so-called establishment is a long-standing issue . Many visitors have reported spotting critters darting across the drink station and evidence of rodent infestations in the storage spaces .
